E-invoicing: The digital future of your invoicing in 2026

Electric driving is becoming standard, and now so is e-invoicing. Starting in 2026, electronic invoicing, or e-invoicing, will become the norm for businesses in Belgium. This is an important step in digitization and will make the invoicing process much simpler and more efficient.

What exactly is e-invoicing?

Simply put, e-invoicing means that invoices are no longer sent as paper documents or PDFs. Instead, they are exchanged in a digital format that can be read and processed directly by computer systems such as an accounting package.  It is done over a secure network called PEPPOL, which is specifically designed for this digital exchange.

What does this mean for our Mobiflow customers?

At Mobiflow, we are already working hard to ensure that our platform is ready for this change. As of 2026, we will send all relevant e-invoices via PEPPOL. This applies to the invoices you receive from us for using our services and software.

In addition, we will also send the so-called “host invoices” via PEPPOL. These are the invoices that Mobiflow prepares on your behalf for the payment of charging sessions at your own charging stations. This makes the administration of your charging revenue a lot more efficient, because we handle the invoicing directly for you.

As for ‘split billing’ (the reimbursement from employers to employees for charging sessions), this will not initially run through the Mobiflow platform.

Why this change?

This transition to e-invoicing is a concerted effort to speed up and simplify administrative processes. It reduces the risk of errors, saves paper and contributes to a more efficient way of working for everyone. Mobiflow is committed to supporting you in this in the best possible way, so you can continue to focus on your core business. Please contact us if you have any questions.
