What is EPBD, and what obligations does this directive entail?

EPBD stands for Energy Performance of Buildings Directive.

It is a European directive aimed at improving the energy efficiency of buildings within the EU. The EPBD includes regulations on aspects such as energy performance, renovation obligations, charging infrastructure for electric vehicles, and the use of renewable energy sources in buildings.

Since March 11, 2021, obligations have been in place for charging points in building parking areas. These apply to buildings for which an environmental permit was requested from that date onwards for new construction or major renovation. From January 1, 2025, non-residential buildings with more than 20 parking spaces must have at least two charging points.
