Sustainable Mobility at BioFirst Group NV: A Successful Collaboration with Mobiflow

In a world where sustainability is becoming increasingly important, BioFirst, headquartered company Biobest Group NV in Westerlo, is taking the lead in innovative and environmentally friendly solutions. What started in 1987 as a revolutionary idea to pollinate tomatoes organically using bumblebees has now grown into a global pioneer in biological crop protection and pollination. With operations in 26 countries, Biobest continues to commit to sustainable agriculture and innovative technologies that contribute to a greener future.

A key part of this sustainability strategy is the electrification of the vehicle fleet. In 2022, Biobest implemented a policy of acquiring only electric vehicles for its Belgian site. To successfully support this transition, Biobest partnered with Mobiflow, the software provider for the charging infrastructure at its sites.

Efficient Charging Solutions Thanks to Mobiflow

Mobiflow plays a crucial role in streamlining Biobest’s charging infrastructure. The installation of charging stations was carried out by the in-house installer, Alfa Engineering, which already had a close collaboration with Mobiflow. Thanks to smooth communication between Alfa Engineering and Mobiflow, the installation went seamlessly, resulting in an efficient and user-friendly solution.

One of the major advantages of the Mobiflow software is its flexibility. “Almost every employee’s situation can be accommodated,” says Martine Bens, Finance Projects Manager at Biobest. “The extensive reporting options and real-time monitoring of the charging process ensure that both employer and employee always have insight into energy consumption and costs. The portal is perceived as very user-friendly, further encouraging the adoption of electric vehicles within Biobest.”

Technical Innovation and Customer Focus

Each installation presents unique challenges, but thanks to Mobiflow’s innovative software and proactive collaboration with Alfa Engineering, creative solutions are consistently found. The software integrates almost automatically with various charging devices, significantly simplifying implementation and management. This seamless integration and technical support make Mobiflow a reliable partner for Biobest.

Mobiflow also excels in service and support. Biobest values the fast and customer-oriented approach of both Mobiflow and Alfa Engineering.

The collaboration has gone very smoothly, from the initial setup to daily operations,” says Biobest. “The level of service makes Mobiflow a ‘preferred supplier’ for Biobest/BioFirst.

Looking to the Future

Biobest looks forward to continued collaboration with Mobiflow. Although the charging software market is competitive, Biobest remains loyal to Mobiflow due to the proven reliability and user-friendliness of its software. “I receive many offers from other providers, but I have no desire to switch. The conversion would be very labour-intensive. Extensive test scenarios would have to be run through,” says Martine Bens. “Moreover, it is important to have a partner with in-depth technical experience.”

For companies considering working with Mobiflow, Biobest has a clear message:

The software is intuitive and highly accessible. The collaboration with Mobiflow has not only facilitated the transition to electric driving within Biobest but also contributes to the company’s broader sustainability goals.

With the ambition to be fully electric in Belgium by 2028 and its ongoing commitment to renewable energy, Biobest remains an inspiring example of how companies can embrace sustainability. Thanks to strong partners like Mobiflow, the path to a greener future is becoming increasingly accessible.
