The Mobiflow app
In recent years, the real autonomy of electric cars has increased significantly. Currently, it fluctuates between 300 and 500 km on average, depending on the model. As you may have noticed this winter, heating also eats up some of your battery capacity, as does air conditioning. Other factors also play a role, such as extra charge, the state of the road surface and weather (wet versus dry), any roof box or towbar box and, of course, the speed at which you drive. Take this into account when setting off, especially for a long journey as you will need to recharge more often.
You can find available charging points and the charging rates charged via the Mobiflow app. Download now our updated Mobiflow app (Google Play / Apple Store) which has become even more user-friendly and check in advance the price and availability of charging points en route.
You can skip the registration and get started right away or sign up, the choice is yours.
Did you already know this?
Unlike fuel where the price is only based on the number of litres, it is different with charging sessions. Of course, there is the price component based on the number of kWh, which is the volume component for electricity and is used to fill your EV’s battery. There may also be a one-off start-up charge.
Moreover, a charge per hour may be levied to counteract EV drivers using charging spots as parking spaces. So be sure to move your car once it is charged, which is also courteous to other drivers who want to charge their car’s battery. Besides, on a fast charger it is not interesting to charge past 80% because the charging speed then decreases considerably. For that last 20%, you are often waiting twice as long as for the first 80%. So it is more interesting to leave sooner for your next stopover, that way you will arrive at your destination faster.
Whether you go to France, Spain or the Netherlands this summer or stay in Belgium, check the charging price in the Mobiflow app beforehand to avoid unpleasant surprises. After all, transparent price information is a must since the introduction of European AFIR regulations. More on this in our blog on AFIR.
Happy summer and have a nice trip with your electric car!
